More Than 26.2
Description: Between now and March 7th, we are following the journey of four Oakland high school students who made the choice to pound the pavement rain or shine, sweating and logging many miles to train for the 2004 LA marathon. Instead of watching TV after school or sleeping in on Saturday mornings, they signed up to participate in a rigorous training program run by a small non-profit called Students Run Oakland. We are showing who these kids are, why they made this decision and what’s motivating them to willingly face this challenge. We are also examining the organization, the hurdles it must overcome to survive and its impact on the community.

Culture-Jamming Anyone?
Description: Coming up very soon: an adventurous street theater/film project happening in early July. We are using heavy satire to address the problem of U.S. imperialism/world domination. The film, “American World,” is part documentary, part drama, has much humor but full of educational value (do you like Michael Moore?).
This project is addressing the most serious issue in the world right now, and we plan on having a whole lot of fun doing it (!!!).

Five Happiness
Description: Five Happiness is a charming short film (to be around 25 minutes completed) shot locally on a low budget.
The story is about a young chinese woman who is forced to come out of the closet to her parents at their aniversary party. Both humourous and touching this is a great project and I am very excited to be working on it.
At this point what we need is cast.

OUT OF THE POISON TREE
www.henrietta-productions.com
Description: We are an independent documentary film company based in San Francisco and we are developing a film about tranistional justice in contemporary Cambodia.
OUT OF THE POISON TREE brings together former perpetrators and victims of Pol Pot’s genocide and explores their need for healing and mutual understanding. While providing a historical overview of the Pol Pot regime, the film seeks to engage its participants and viewers in truth gathering and is designed to stimulate conversation surrounding the CGT (Cambodian Genocide Tribunal).
The film places current social conflicts and modern-day challenges in scope by telling the tale of the Pol Pot regime. With respect to the long-standing storytelling tradition in Cambodia, we wish to illustrate this with song and dance.

The Insular Empire: America's Pacific Frontier

Description: What does it feel like to be a colonial subject of the greatest democracy on earth? The Insular Empire is a one-hour PBS documentary that will answer this question, by exploring America's westernmost limits: the Mariana Islands of the northern Pacific Ocean.
Six thousand miles from the American mainland, the Marianas – which include Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or CNMI – are America's little-known but strategically vital western frontier. This film will follow four of the islands' inhabitants, interweaving their life stories with the history of the islands' long and troubled relationship with the United States.
