IN PRE-PRODUCTION
Soledad Is Gone Forever/Soledad Se Fue Para Siempre
Description: "Soledad Is Gone Forever" is a woman’s poignant journey that explores the long lasting psychological effects of warfare in the children of missing Chileans during the Pinochet era.
Soledad Gonzalez, a successful artist in San Francisco, is a young woman attempting to forget her past while having a successful artist career in San Francisco, when she receives the news that her father’s remains have been found in Chile, twenty years after his disappearance. Soledad's awareness of the found remains unravels a Pandora's box of repressed guilt that comes back to haunt her life and shatter her sanity.
As her nightmarish visions become more threatening, Soledad realizes that her past will not leave her in peace until she finds out who was responsible for her father’s death. Soledad goes back to Chile to discover that she has known the truth all along and that her trouble mind may well be a product of a darker revelation as eluding as the pair of patent leather shoes that she always wanted as a little girl.
“Soledad Is Gone Forever” was a semifinalist in ITVS Open Call last August and participated in the prestigious NALIP Producers Academy 2004 in Tucson, Arizona.
