Legal Services - $30 for initial 30 minute attorney consultation; special BAWIFT hourly rate for services thereafter. Contact Jann Moorhead for more information.
Open Studios - The goal is to provide BAWIFT members with the opportunity to visit production and post production facilities and gain knowledge and insight from the talented owners and operators of each company. It is also an opportunity for BAWIFT members who are freelancers to meet facility operators that are seeking to enhance their freelance database. For those in production, it is a great way to find out what each of these facilities is capable of, so when they have deadlines to make they know who to call.
Contact Michaelle Stikich for more information.Discounted rates on California Lawyers for the Arts Workshops - BAWIFT is a member organization with California Lawyers for the Arts. This membership entitles four (4) BAWIFT members to attend any Calawyer seminar at the member price for that seminar. If you want to attend a Calawyer seminar (we will post the ones that are related to film/video but you can attend any), please contact us. We will do first come first served for the member slots. You can find out more about Calawyers at their website.
Filmmaker level prices on co-sponsored workshops at Film Arts Foundation - Each year, BAWIFT sponsors various workshops at the Film Arts Foundation . Members get the filmmaker level price for these workshops.
Sell Your Film through BAWIFT.ORG - Link from the BAWIFT Shop directly to wherever your film's DVD/VHS is sold.
When your film is first posted, we will make an announcement to Chicks-Chat and again in the next monthly update. To take advantage of this member benefit, please send us your DVD title, a short (3 sentence max) description of your film, the URL of your sale page/site and an image of max size 150 x 150 pixels/72 dpi. BAWIFT will not take any percentage from the sale.Letter of Support - Are you trying to get funding for your film? Are you trying to gain credibility to gain access to your subjects?
As a member of BAWIFT, you may submit a 1-2 page proposal for your project to the BAWIFT Board of Directors for a letter of support to include in your materials. Include a synopsis of your project and your team and where you are in production. We will assign each request to a small committee on the Board, which will review the proposal to be sure it is in alignment with BAWIFT's values. We will also look at the viability of the project and the abilities of the member and her team. The committee will then make a recommendation to the full Board. If the proposal passes, the member will receive a recommendation letter from the BAWIFT leadership. You may send your support letter requests and proposals to Danielle Beverly
